Once you log in to your Spotify account, it’s automatically linked to your Google Home. Once Spotify is your default music player, you can choose to set any playlist from your Spotify library as an alarm. You can select an artist, band, or song from Spotify as your preferred alarm as well. Rather than changing the general alarm, it’s much easier to use a voice command to add a media alarm.
Verify that the desired Google Home device is set up. Then try performing an Alarm.com command through the Google Home device (e.g. Arm Stay). Please note that this process may not work if you are using a Verizon Samsung device. If you have a Verizon service and a Samsung Android Smartphone, then you may want to try a different pairing method, or try using a different device.
How to use Google Home:
After you connect your smart devices in the Google Home app, you can use the Google Home app to control them. If you have a Google Nest or Home speaker or display, you can also use voice commands to control your smart devices. Then, tap on the cross icon next to the alarm that you want to cancel. A big part of using Google Home with an Alarm.com System is having the ability to control smart devices through spoken commands.
This menu will take you to a permissions page that will allow your Google Home to find your Nest product. Your Nest device will be visible once it’s connected. Test your Nest product with the Nest app to make sure it’s working before connecting it to your Google Home. Nest products like the Nest Video Doorbell, Nest Thermostat, or Nest Protect smoke detector may take more time to install than others. Follow the instructions that came with your Nest products to get them up and running.
How to Add Ring Doorbell to Google Home
The Nest app makes physical installation easy with step-by-step instructions and plenty of resources if you have questions. Google offers its own video doorbell system called Nest Hello. Unlike Ring, it provides 24/7 monitoring and recording with a Nest Aware subscription. That said, the two devices can work together. Once connected, you can ask Google Home to perform various tasks with Ring. In the drop-down menu, choose the Google Home device you want to connect to the Ring.

Bringing Together a Ring Doorbell and Google Home
Link Google to your Ring account in the notification screen on your phone. Choose whether you want the alarm to repeat and select a tone for the alarm. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen, and tap Alarms. There’s no need to get up again—or even reach for your phone—to arm your security system for the night.
Tap the microphone at the bottom of the screen. Verify you are logged into your Google account in the Google Assistant app. Your phone's Google Assistant has been trained to recognize your voice. It should then prompt you to enter your user name and password. Only issue I had was that prompt returned like it didn’t actually initialize with Google Home, but it actually did.
From here, select “Set up device” at the top of the menu. If you sign into Nest using your Google account, your device should sync to your Google Home automatically. Once your Nest device is installed and active, you can connect it to Google Home through the Google Home app. Keep your Nest device powered on while connecting it to the Google Home app. All of Nest’s products connect to your Google Home the same way, but you have to install the hardware first.
If you have a Google Home, here are some things you can do with it and alarm.com. If you are wanting to sync it with your ADT system click here. Test an Alarm.com command using the Google Home device (i.e., arm system). The Alarm.com account is now synced with Google Home. Open Google Assistant and say, "Ok Google" or "Hey Google" or tap the microphone at the bottom of the screen.
While you can use the Google Nest display to set the alarm, you can set a specific song as an alarm on Google Home with just one voice command. However, you can only change the general default alarm with the Google Nest display. I connected Google Home to alarm.com, but later setup two-factor authentication on the alarm account, forgetting this would interfere with GH voice commands. I turned it off, but GH is still unable to connect. Now when I attempt to control my alarm, it says "Your login is no longer valid. Please re-link your account to continue using this agent.". Keep in mind that your Google Home speakers need to be connected to the Wi-Fi when you use the voice command.
Using your Alarm.com username and password, log into Alarm.com and link the account to your Google Home. Using the Alarm.com username and password, log into Alarm.com and link the account to the user's Google Home. Your Google Home has been connected to your Wi-Fi and set up on your Google Home app. In the Related to your activitycard, it displaysLink to Alarm.com.
